The intention of the developer appears to be to operate them as small hotels or short-term rentals and to circumvent established planning and zoning processes, which has prompted the City Council to propose implementing a floating home ordinance to allow tiny home development to continue. A developer (Dune Ridge) wants to install at least four portable, prefabricated, modular tiny homes on barges at its marina next to the Chain Ferry landing along Park Street. ![]()
